Performance Improvement on Local Polynomial Periodogram

چکیده
With the Lv’s distribution (LVD), the chirp rates of linear frequency modulated (LFM) signals can be more accurately estimated for the local polynomial periodogram (LPP). Comparing to the estimation methods based on the polynomial Fourier transform (PFT) and fractional Fourier transform (FrFT), it is shown that LPP with the chirp rate estimated by LV’s distributioneffectively obtains better performance on instantaneous frequency (IF) estimation and energy concentration in the time frequency domain. RfLPP-Hough Transform for Chirp Signal Detection
In this paper, the reassigned local polynomial periodogram along the frequency direction (RfLPP) is shown to be able to perfectly localize the chirp signal. Due to this property, the RfLPP is combined with the Hough transform for chirp signal detection in the parameter domain. Simulations of the RfLPP-Hough transform are given for chirp signal detection in white Gaussian noise and impulsive noi...
متن کاملVelocity and acceleration estimation in video sequences by the local polynomial periodogram
Motion parameters estimation is performed by using the local polynomial periodogram. The presented method provides the estimation of velocity and acceleration, simultaneously. It is appropriate for the motion parameters estimation in noisy sequences. Theoretical considerations are illustrated by numerical examples.

In this paper, we show that there are a number of uncertainty principles for the local polynomial Fourier transform and local polynomial periodogram. Systematic analysis of uncertainty principles is given, explicit expressions of the uncertainty relations are derived, and an example using the chirp signal and the Gaussian window function is given to verify the expressions.

This article uses local polynomial techniques to t Whittle's likelihood for spectral density estimation. Asymptotic sampling properties of the proposed estimators are derived, and adaptation of the proposed estimator to the boundary eeect is noted. We show that the Whittle likelihood based estimator has advantages over the least-squares based log-periodogram. The bandwidth for the Whittle likel...
متن کاملPerformance Analysis of the Time-Based and Periodogram-Based Energy Detector for Spectrum Sensing
Classically, an energy detector is implemented in time domain (TD). However, frequency domain (FD) based energy detector has demonstrated an improved performance. This paper presents a comparison between the two approaches as to analyze their pros and cons. A detailed performance analysis of the classical TD energy-detector and the periodogram based detector is performed. Exact and approximate ...
